Day 7 - Snorkelling at Phi Phi

We have often gone snorkelling back in Nerja whilst on a Kayaking trip but never really got into it. We never found a clear enough spot and the fish were few and far between. We always thought that snorkelling in Thailand would be better. The experience didn’t let us down.

The crystal clear waters around the Phi Phi Islands were excellent for snorkelling. The amount of fish swimming around you was incredible. At times it became a little claustrophobic as a massive shoal of exotic fish swam directly at you. At times it was impossible not to bump into them.

I have no idea what fish species we were looking at but the common one was a little yellow and black stripped creature. The colours were amazing. Another favourite was a large fish, which was a blue colour, at times difficult to see as they were a bit more shy and stayed close to the coral.
