Málaga Feria otra vez!

Another trip to Malaga feria. This time it was with the intention of going on the rides. Francois and Jane came along to see the sights. However, it was horse day at the feria which meant a slight change to plans.

Somos Primera!

I was getting exited as we reached the feria ground. I had brought a change of clothes and was looking forward to getting soaked, a great way to keep cool in the heat of another hot day in Málaga, The thermometer reaching 37 degrees.

Horse day at the feria

There was a marked increase in people in traditional dress. So was the number of horse riders and carriages. For good reason as it turns out it was "Horse Day" at the feria. This means that the fairground is not open till later. So it was a quick trip to a caseta for some excellent tapas but really dodgy paella. A change of plan was needed.

Relaxing at "La Playa"

Monica mentioned the dreaded word "Shopping" and Jane's ears pricked up. The even more dreaded word "Ikea" was spoken. Luckily Francois was having none of it and suggested a trip to "la Playa". This is a wonderful chiringuito at the beginning of the beach at Torremolinos. Its a super chilled venue with large 4 posted beds on the beach, an old boat decked out with sun loungers and a DJ playing ambient music. Nerja needs a place like this.

Francois and Jane Chevenot

The plan was to relax with a few cocktails and enjoy the afternoon sun. Francois was enjoying his Mojitos while the rest of us went for non alcoholic treats such as "I love Fresa" (not that nice) and "Carnaval" (this one next time for sure!). By 7ish surely the feria would be open.

Splashdown!

Driving back to Málaga we saw the noria wheel running at its usual breakneck speed. Time for some fun on the log flume. At 3 and a half euro a pop it was a little expensive but we had come all this way what the hell.

Scary ride

After that it was trying to find a ride that Monica would go on. We ended up settling for the haunted house ride. Jane was made official photographer as expectant mothers weren't allowed to ride. I little unsuccessful as it turned out as by the time she had locked on focus we had moved from the shot.

Cravings for candyfloss

There was still time for Francois to show that he is a crack shot with the riffle. The look on the girls face as he knocked over all 7 cans in a flash. Too easy! Armed with fluffy playboy bunny cushion it was off to find candyfloss. I nice treat for the "Little Princess" after Francois's failed attempts to introduce baby Chevenot to the delights of the Mojito.

The night at El Molino

The night was finished off with a trip to Bella Roma for pizza and then on to "El Molino". A traditional flamenco bar that Francois told us about. A very popular location, especially with the young locals. A warm-up place before they hit Tutti Frutti.
