Truly amazing! The video call function in Skype cannot be described any other way. The fact that now, 1000’s of kilometres apart, Monica can chat with her sister as if she was sitting across the table. At first I thought the novelty would ware off with the video call. Besides, you don’t always want the other person to see you, especially in summer when you parade around the house in your boxers! However, the fact that you can see all the gestures, nods and smiles is great. I suppose the fact that Italians talk with their hands makes it more of a bonus for them!

Anyway, the video call has revolutionised the Vianello/Cipolata methods of communication. Not to mention it has dramatically reduced the telephone bill. So when will the Burkett family crawl out of the dark ages and join in? Getting ADSL at home would be a start!
