We met with two of the students at Quorum, Phillipe and Mikal, at La Piqueta on Calle Pintada. We settled down inside and waited for the procession. The procession passed by and I tried to take a few photos from the comfort of the bar. The others were more interested in the beer and tapas. The procession was different than the previous day as the Trono if Jesus was the one with him carrying the cross.

With the procession continuing up Calle Pintada we made a quick change of plans and headed in search of one of Phillipe’s friends who was playing in a band at a Teteria until midnight. We arrived at the Teteria on Calle Granada to find no live music. Phillipe didn’t realise that cosmopolitan Nerja has two Teteria’s, so we headed off to the other one on Calle Carabeo.
The back of the Procession.
This was the first time I had been to the Teteria and it was a pleasant surprise. The place doesn’t look much from the street. However, at the back there is a lovely terrace and the band was set-up and playing. It was a perfect setting for the bands style, sort of easy listening, acoustic style (I don’t know what to call it but it sounded good). The owner told us that they play every Saturday night from 10pm till Midnight. We made plans to return to catch the whole show.
Nice setting in the Terrace at the Teteria.
The band carried on playing past the midnight curfew as it was Easter and seemingly no local police were about to stop it. At around 1am they finished and we went to see what was happening at Cochran’s. Normally this place has good bands on. Tonight they had a solo Irish singer on. We didn’t really get chance to find out if he was any good as he did two songs and finished for the night. Disappointingly, the bar then played really crap disco music so we left.
We walked aimlessly around town looking for somewhere else but to no avail. We had a quick drink in the Temple Bar but there was no live music. After walking around town we gave up and headed home. Note to self, need to find a few more bars that have decent music after hours.
