Noche de tapas

It was time for the Cipolata's to have their first taste of tapas on this trip. We decided to meet up in the Balcon at around 8pm. Monica would make her way on foot from work and I would come fresh from the Gym after a work out on the Bikes. It wasn't the only work out I had. On arriving at the car park, a Spanish senorita asked for my help. It seems that her boyfriend forgot to put the car into reverse and had plunged the car into a ditch. Whilst the boyfriend sat on the boot of the car to balance the car, I was in the ditch pushing the car out with another helpful soul. At one point a thought the car was going to crush us but we managed to push it out.

So, not so fresh from the Gym, I arrived in the Balcon to meet up for our tapas trail. We decided on going to our favourite, Meson de Julio. Along with the tapas we ordered a plate of aubergines in honey sauce. Lovely. We were also greeted by the welcome sight of Africa back working at Julio's. We have stopped going to Cabana 5 in part due to Africa leaving. It just wasn't the same. Welcome back!

Our next tapas stop was on Burriana Beach at the Colonia. Here, we ordered two plates of mixed tapas. This was almost the entire menu range, the highlights being chicken in peanut sauce, mushrooms cooked with bacon and cheese, chili con carne, patatas bravas and of course, manchego cheese and serano ham. The tapas soon disappeared from the plate. Everyone enjoying the tapas treats.
