Christmas Eve at Sacca Fisola

My first Venetian Christmas. It all kicks off on Christmas Eve. A huge dinner with every type of fish possible being served up. We went to Giustina’s house, Roberto’s sister, in Sacca Fisola, which is at the opposite end of Guidecca. Let the eating commence!

Presents are handed out before heading to midnight mass. Maria Cristina received a smart tricycle from Papá Noel. The smartest engineering minds on Sacca Fisola got on the job. Well, Marcello, Michele and Andrea. Twenty minutes later and Cristina was whizzing up and down the hall.
